About Chaitanyam Eye Care Institute

Chaitanyam Eye Care Institute is on a mission to eradicate cataracts and other vision-related issues of the people in and around Kale, near Kolhapur. Kolhapur is a town known for its rich Spiritual and Cultural heritage. However, what the world does not know is the number of cataract and eye-infection-related cases that go unattended every year in this part of rural India.

The team at Chaitanyam, with the purpose of ‘Seva for Society’; especially for the unserved and underprivileged ones, took a step forward in constructing and setting up a state-of-the-art Eye Care Institute, with two distinctive features:

MOBILE VAN SERVICE - A Mobile Eye Clinic that will visit the remotest places in the rural villages adjoining Kolhapur with a Medical Team providing them with treatment. They will also refer them to our Institute for further medical examination and treatment. The Mobile Van will be a significant boon for patients who can’t even walk up to a hospital and seek medical assistance due to their vision problems.

INSTITUTE Services - The Chaitanyam Eye Care Institute will have all the facilities for eye checkup/screening, and Cataract surgery. The services offered here will be free of cost - this is a hospital without a billing/cash counter!

The Foundation Stone of this institute was laid on the 4th of April 2024. This ceremony was attended by esteemed members and chief guests.

We are striving towards complete functionality of Chaitanyam Eye Care Institute, providing the best Eye Care Facilities, by the end of this year.

About Us

"Chaitanyam" is the first initiative undertaken by the Sweekriti sociocare foundation. Sweekriti Sociocare Foundation is a not-for-profit Section 8 company registered under Section 12A established to support the development of a coherent healthcare ecosystem and promote affordable avenues of value-based education, training, and skill development in healthcare without any distinction whatsoever of caste, religion, and status. Chaitanyam institute for human excellence in Healthcare is one of its kind resource centers for developing better caregivers and promotion of human values in Healthcare. We believe that a novel transformation in Healthcare can be brought in by socially conscious and compassionate caregivers. Hence, we have set forth to redefine the care aspect of health and provide an enriching learning environment for the next generation caregivers.
